The UAE Media Council has signed a major agreement with Presight to launch an AI-powered platform that will regulate and evaluate media content prior to publication, marking a first-of-its-kind initiative in the region.
Announced during the ‘Make it in the Emirates’ event, the Unified Media AI and Analytics Platform is designed to support the Council’s regulatory mandate by providing a centralised, intelligent environment for inspecting books, films, artworks, and other content before release. The move aims to ensure alignment with UAE laws, values, and cultural standards while streamlining approval processes.
By consolidating data from various agencies and licensing bodies, the platform enables real-time analysis, validation, and collaboration across the media ecosystem. It replaces previously manual tasks with advanced digital tools, promising faster, more consistent, and ethically sound regulatory decisions.
Mohammed Saeed Al Shehhi, Secretary-General of the UAE Media Council, called the platform a “transformative milestone” that reflects the country’s commitment to proactive, AI-driven governance. He said the platform would enhance transparency, improve audience insight, and help future-proof media regulation.
Thomas Pramotedham, CEO of Presight, noted that the initiative underscores the power of cross-sector collaboration in advancing ethical digital transformation.
“This is more than innovation; it’s about safeguarding national values while enabling intelligent regulatory action,”
he said.
With its AI-driven capabilities and stakeholder integration, the platform is expected to reinforce the UAE’s global leadership in digital media governance, offering a resilient and forward-looking solution for content oversight.
