Space42, the UAE’s pioneering AI-powered SpaceTech company, has teamed up with the UAE Ministry of Education to launch an educational campaign aimed at nurturing the next generation of scientists, engineers, and space enthusiasts.
This initiative, in anticipation of the launch of Thuraya 4, Space42's next-generation mobility satellite, is part of the company’s “One World. Deeply Connected” campaign. The program invites students from UAE Ministry of Education-run schools to experience satellite technology up close at Yahsat Space Services’ facilities.
Ali Al Hashemi, CEO of Yahsat Space Services, stated,
“As we prepare to launch Thuraya 4, our collaboration with the Ministry of Education reinforces our dedication to fostering young scientific minds and supporting the UAE’s National Space Strategy 2030.”
The program is designed to inspire students by providing hands-on learning opportunities aligned with the UAE’s STEM curriculum, offering them insights into satellite operations and innovations in space technology.
Students from grades 7 to 9 will have the opportunity to tour Yahsat’s facilities, including the satellite control center, and participate in interactive workshops, presentations, and virtual Q&A sessions. This initiative provides students with a rare, real-world view of STEM applications, opening doors to potential careers in aerospace and technology.
Sulaiman Al Kaabi, Executive Director of the Students' Wellbeing Sector, praised Space42’s commitment, emphasizing how the collaboration would deepen students' understanding of space sciences and support the UAE’s ambitions in space exploration.
The tours, scheduled weekly across six weeks in October and November 2024, will span Yahsat’s facilities in Abu Dhabi and Sharjah, providing students with an inspirational look at their nation’s space achievements and future.
