The Ministry of Finance convened the Financial Media Forum today in Dubai, themed “Government Financial Data,” highlighting the growing importance of collaboration between the government and media institutions in promoting financial literacy.
The forum is part of the Ministry’s ongoing efforts to strengthen ties with the media, recognizing the critical role of financial journalists in disseminating economic insights to the public. It comes as the UAE continues to witness rapid economic and financial growth, with a clear emphasis on transparency and sustainability.
Key figures at the forum included Azza Ali Aljassmi, Director of Government Communication, and Abeer Ali Al Abdooli, Director of Macroeconomic Fiscal Policy. The event drew several local journalists and financial experts, providing them with the tools to analyze and interpret complex financial data.
Presentations and expert-led sessions focused on the role of government financial data in media communication. One such session, led by Senior Economic Advisor Sahel Al Rousan, emphasized how government data can shape public awareness. Another session explored strategies for utilizing financial data to support effective economic policymaking.
The Ministry also unveiled its electronic portal, a key resource for journalists, offering access to data, statistics, and studies to support accurate reporting. The forum concluded with an interactive session, allowing participants to engage directly with the experts, further enhancing knowledge exchange and dialogue.
Through this forum, the Ministry reaffirmed its commitment to fostering a deeper understanding of fiscal policies and strengthening the UAE’s global financial position.
