UAE Ministry of Finance Launches World Bank Advisory Services Portal

The UAE Ministry of Finance has launched a new webpage dedicated to the World Bank's advisory services, enabling local entities to apply for and monitor their requests more efficiently.

This initiative is part of the Ministry's ongoing collaboration with the World Bank Group to strengthen financial and economic institutions.

Younis Haji Al Khoori, Under-Secretary of the Ministry of Finance, highlighted the UAE's long-standing partnership with the World Bank, noting its success in knowledge exchange and technical cooperation. The collaboration has contributed to significant achievements, including the issuance of local bonds, modernizing insolvency laws, and promoting women’s economic empowerment and climate change initiatives.

These remarks were made during a workshop hosted by the World Bank Group in partnership with the Ministry of Finance at the Abu Dhabi Global Market Academy. The workshop focused on the World Bank’s key initiatives and strategic priorities, particularly in the UAE and the GCC region.

High-profile attendees included Safaa El Tayeb El Kogali, World Bank's Country Director for the GCC, and Abdullah Jafri, Regional Director for GCC Affairs at the International Finance Corporation. Discussions centered on topics such as financing, innovation, economic diversification, and climate change, with both parties reaffirming their commitment to sustainable development.

Additionally, the Ministry and the World Bank renewed their Advisory Services Payable Agreement, originally signed in 2014. This agreement provides a framework for UAE authorities to access the World Bank’s technical expertise, further strengthening the partnership between the two entities.
