UAE Ministry of Finance Partners with CIPS to Launch New Procurement Diploma Program
On Wednesday, the Ministry of Finance signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Chartered Institute of Purchasing and Supply (CIPS) to introduce the CIPS Practitioner Level Diploma in Procurement and Supply 2025.
This initiative aims to strengthen national competencies, foster innovation in the public sector, and enhance the UAE's global competitiveness.
The MoU was signed by Younis Haji AlKhoori, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Finance, and Sam Achampong, Regional Director for the Middle East, Africa, and Asia Pacific at CIPS, with senior officials from both sides in attendance.
AlKhoori emphasized the Ministry’s commitment to advancing public finance and promoting sustainable development globally.
“Our collaboration with CIPS opens up new opportunities to develop national competencies through advanced educational programs that enhance government performance and competitiveness,”
he said. The launch of the CIPS Practitioner Level Diploma is expected to empower federal government employees to adopt innovative procurement and sourcing strategies focused on financial and environmental sustainability.
Achampong added that the diploma would equip government employees with sustainable procurement strategies to stay ahead of global trends and achieve optimal results.
Targeting financial and procurement managers, as well as chief procurement officers in the federal government, the certification aims to enhance professional and analytical skills. It will help implement effective procurement strategies that drive both financial and environmental sustainability, while ensuring greater efficiency in government procurement processes.
