The Ministry of Finance (MoF) launched the "Financial Sustainability Standards Guide in the Federal Government" during a meeting at the Sustainability and Innovation Centre in Dubai.
The event, attended by MoF representatives and federal entities, focused on embedding financial sustainability within government operations in line with the UAE’s vision for sustainable development.
The guide outlines essential principles and standards of financial sustainability, highlighting global best practices to enhance public financial management. The initiative aims to strengthen the UAE's commitment to long-term stability, ensuring efficient resource use and economic resilience.
Mariam Mohamed Al Amiri, Assistant Undersecretary of the Government Financial Management Sector at MoF, emphasized the guide’s role in advancing sustainable development. She stated,
“This comprehensive guide provides an integrated framework for government entities, enabling them to make financial decisions that enhance transparency and efficiency in resource management.”
The agenda included discussions on various themes such as "Embracing Sustainability," "Sustainability Frameworks," and "Government Finance Operations." The meeting concluded with a tour of the Sustainability and Innovation Centre, showcasing the latest sustainable practices and technologies.
The launch of the guide marks a significant step towards improving financial operations within the federal government and ensuring the UAE's future growth in line with sustainable development goals.
