In line with the UAE’s visionary leadership, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MOFA) has set new benchmarks in delivering high-quality, innovative, and accessible digital services. These advancements align with the UAE’s commitment to ensuring the welfare of its citizens abroad.
Key achievements in 2024 include the implementation of advanced digital systems, which boosted responsiveness and achieved a satisfaction rate exceeding 95%. MOFA also launched initiatives promoting safe travel awareness, targeted campaigns for Emirati pilgrims, and support for elderly citizens traveling for medical treatment. On the International Day of Older Persons, the ministry organized visits to overseas patients to ensure their well-being.
Among MOFA’s standout initiatives was the launch of the “Smart Mission” project in the Republic of Korea in May 2024. This digital-first consular service, leveraging artificial intelligence and facial recognition, simplifies governmental procedures, ensuring instant, efficient service delivery. The project underscores the UAE’s digital transformation strategy and supports its “Impossible is Possible” vision.
MOFA’s emergency response capabilities were also enhanced, addressing over 16,000 calls via its 24/7 hotline. The ministry resolved 91% of cases within 30 seconds and introduced automatic callback technology. Additionally, 1,239 electronic return documents were issued within 30 minutes under streamlined procedures.
Bushra Ahmed Al Matrooshi, Director of the UAE Nationals Affairs Department, reaffirmed MOFA’s commitment to prioritizing citizens’ welfare through innovative and accessible solutions. She highlighted the ministry’s round-the-clock dedication to ensuring safety and enhancing the quality of life for UAE nationals abroad.
UAE nationals can access MOFA’s services through its official website, UAEMOFA smart app, or 24/7 emergency hotline (0097180024).
