UAE national carriers began operating exceptional flights on Monday evening as authorities initiated a controlled and partial resumption of air traffic, prioritising safety and coordination amid recent regional developments.

The General Civil Aviation Authority confirmed the commencement of exceptional flight operations across UAE airports to enable stranded passengers to depart. The authority said flights would operate in line with schedules communicated directly by airlines and urged affected travellers not to proceed to airports without confirmed timings to avoid congestion.

Etihad Airways resumed limited operations from Abu Dhabi, though all scheduled commercial services remain cancelled. The airline stated that repositioning, cargo and repatriation flights may operate subject to strict operational and safety approvals. It stressed that services would resume only once all safety criteria are met.

In Dubai, Dubai Airports announced a limited resumption of flights from Dubai International Airport and Al Maktoum International Airport on the evening of 2 March. Travellers were advised to await direct confirmation from their airlines before heading to the airport.

Emirates and flydubai also confirmed they would operate a limited number of flights, prioritising previously booked passengers. Both carriers said customers would be contacted directly regarding rebookings and updated schedules.

Meanwhile, Abu Dhabi Airports confirmed partial resumption at Zayed International Airport in coordination with relevant authorities and airline partners.

Authorities reiterated that adherence to airline instructions remains essential to ensure orderly operations and passenger safety.
