The Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) has implemented temporary changes to bus routes between Dubai and Abu Dhabi, which will be in effect from November 29 until December 3.

The E100 bus route, which typically operates from Al Ghubaiba Bus Station, will now be diverted to Ibn Battuta Bus Station as it heads towards Abu Dhabi. Similarly, the E102 route will start its journey from Ibn Battuta Bus Station, heading towards Mussafah Shabiya Bus Station in Abu Dhabi.

These changes come at a time when many residents are preparing for a long weekend, and heavy traffic is expected. To accommodate commuters, RTA has also suggested the option of using taxis to travel between Dubai and Abu Dhabi.

Earlier this month, the RTA launched a new taxi-sharing pilot service between the two cities. This initiative is designed to help passengers save up to 75% of their travel costs, offering a more affordable way to commute.

In addition to the temporary bus route changes, the RTA is rolling out new services starting Friday, November 29. Three new bus routes will be introduced, including Route 108, which will connect Satwa Bus Station directly to Global Village. This route will operate on Fridays, Saturdays, Sundays, public holidays, and during special events, with 11 daily trips and a frequency of 60 minutes. Service hours for Route 108 will be from 2 pm to 1 am the following day.

The RTA also announced two additional routes, Route F63 and Route J05, which will further enhance the city’s public transportation options.

These changes aim to ease commuting for both residents and visitors, especially during the busy holiday season, while also promoting sustainable and cost-effective travel options.
