The UAE National Experts Programme has outlined its key achievements for 2025, reinforcing its role in building a national pipeline of Emirati experts equipped to lead future growth sectors aligned with the country’s strategic priorities.
The progress reflects national directives to empower Emiratis with advanced skills and applied expertise that support sustainable development and long term competitiveness. According to Ahmed Taleb Al Shamsi, Director of the National Experts Programme, the milestones achieved this year demonstrate how Emirati experts are translating knowledge into practical solutions that inform policy and strengthen the UAE’s global standing.
A major highlight was the graduation of the second and third cohorts in November during the UAE Government Annual Meetings in Abu Dhabi. A total of 40 Emirati experts completed the programme, representing 23 national sectors, with selected Fellows leading work in priority areas critical to the UAE’s future development.
The fourth cohort completed its year long programme in October, with 25 experts concluding applied learning projects across key sectors. Eight participants presented innovative solutions to national challenges at the Behavioral Exchange BX2025 conference in Abu Dhabi, hosted for the first time in the MENA region.
Throughout 2025, the Programme expanded its focus on advanced technologies, including artificial intelligence, through new learning pathways aimed at strengthening national technological capabilities.
Internationally, NEP experts represented the UAE at major global platforms including Expo 2025 Osaka, COP30 in Brazil, the World Governments Summit, and the World Economic Forum in Davos, supporting the country’s knowledge diplomacy agenda.
Community initiatives also featured prominently during the Year of Community, including humanitarian efforts in Morocco and national education engagements. Since its launch in 2019, the Programme has graduated 86 Emirati experts, many holding advanced postgraduate degrees.
