Under the patronage of H.H. Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, the UAE has launched the “UAE National Orchestra” to reflect the nation's commitment to advancing the arts and fostering cultural unity.
This new initiative aims to blend the rich Emirati musical heritage with contemporary global styles, showcasing the country's artistic diversity.
The orchestra's creation is led by Noura Al Kaabi, Minister of State and Chairperson of the UAE National Orchestra Board. Al Kaabi highlighted the importance of music and the arts in shaping the cultural identity of society and bridging global cultures. The orchestra will play a pivotal role in enhancing the country’s music sector, nurturing local talent, and promoting the universal language of music.
The Board of Directors includes key figures from various cultural and academic sectors, such as Sarah Al Amiri, Minister of Education, and Mohamed Khalifa Al Mubarak, Chairman of the Department of Culture and Tourism – Abu Dhabi. Other notable members include Huda Alkhamis-Kanoo, Founder of the Abu Dhabi Music & Arts Foundation, and renowned artist Naseer Shamma, Founder of the Arab Oud House.
Al Kaabi emphasized that the orchestra aligns with the leadership’s vision to promote cultural values, tolerance, and coexistence.
“Through the UAE National Orchestra, we aim to enhance our local culture while building bridges with the world’s diverse musical traditions,”
she stated.
