The United Arab Emirates and the Kingdom of the Netherlands reaffirmed their strong and growing bilateral relationship during the fourth round of political consultations held in The Hague on April 9.
Co-chaired by Lana Zaki Nusseibeh, UAE Assistant Minister for Political Affairs, and Marcel de Vink, Director-General for Political Affairs of the Netherlands, the meeting underscored the strategic depth of the partnership and the shared commitment to advancing cooperation across key sectors.
Discussions focused on expanding collaboration in economic development, advanced technology, digital transformation, water and renewable energy, and food security. Both sides welcomed the robust growth in non-oil bilateral trade, which surged by over 20% in 2023, and acknowledged the strengthening of investment ties, with foreign direct investment flows reaching nearly US$1.07 billion.
The consultations also provided a platform for a comprehensive exchange on pressing regional and global developments, particularly the evolving dynamics in the Middle East and Europe. Both parties emphasized the importance of sustained dialogue and cooperation in addressing regional challenges and promoting international stability.
Reiterating their mutual commitment to regular high-level engagement, the UAE and the Netherlands agreed to continue fostering diplomatic and economic ties, aiming to deliver tangible benefits for their respective nations and contribute to broader global peace and prosperity.
