Ambassador Jamal Al Musharakh, the UAE's Permanent Representative to the UN and international organizations in Geneva, announced a significant pledge of US$25,000 at a recent pledging event.

The contribution will support the participation of Least Developed Countries (LDCs) and Small Island Developing States (SIDS) in the Human Rights Council through the Voluntary Technical Assistance Trust Fund.

Al Musharakh emphasized that the donation aims to ensure every country, regardless of size or resources, has a voice in global forums. He stressed that the UAE’s contribution underscores its commitment to enhancing multilateralism and providing technical assistance to strengthen the effectiveness of international cooperation. The UAE’s focus on empowering LDCs and SIDS reflects its broader goal of fostering an inclusive, equitable, and prosperous world for all.

This pledge aligns with the UAE’s long-standing dedication to humanitarian efforts, supporting initiatives that address global challenges such as climate change, poverty reduction, and promoting peace and prosperity. The UAE has consistently played a pivotal role in advancing global economic growth and humanitarian support.

The Voluntary Technical Assistance Trust Fund, established in 2012, helps LDCs and SIDS build their capacity to participate in the Human Rights Council's work. Funded by voluntary contributions from UN member states, the Trust Fund offers vital training programs aimed at empowering delegates from these nations to engage effectively in multilateral discussions.

The UAE's latest pledge highlights the nation's ongoing commitment to promoting human rights and ensuring that all countries, regardless of their developmental status, are heard in international decision-making processes.
