The United Arab Emirates has secured the top position in the Arab world and ranked 21st globally in the World Happiness Report 2026, reinforcing its standing as one of the most stable and prosperous nations worldwide.
The report, issued by the UN Sustainable Development Solutions Network and supported by data from the Gallup World Poll, assessed 147 countries using key indicators such as GDP per capita, life expectancy, personal freedom, social support, generosity, and perceptions of corruption. The UAE achieved an overall score of 6.8.
The ranking places the UAE ahead of several major global economies, reflecting consistent progress in economic strength, governance, and quality of life.
In detailed indicators, the UAE ranked fourth globally in citizens’ freedom to make life choices, highlighting strong levels of personal autonomy. It also placed eighth in GDP per capita, reaching approximately $70,000, underlining its economic resilience.
The country ranked 19th globally in generosity, a measure that reflects the scale of charitable contributions across society. Meanwhile, it secured the 30th position in life expectancy, indicating continued improvements in healthcare and living standards.
The latest results further affirm the UAE’s broader strategy to enhance wellbeing, economic opportunity, and social cohesion across the country.
