The United Arab Emirates delivered broad-based progress across energy, infrastructure, housing, transport, and digital government in 2025, reinforcing its ability to convert long-term national strategies into measurable outcomes that enhance competitiveness and quality of life.

The achievements reflect a coordinated government approach focused on innovation, operational efficiency, and sustainable development, with results spanning domestic priorities and international leadership roles.

In housing, the Ministry of Energy and Infrastructure issued 3,567 housing support decisions valued at AED2.546 billion, covering grants, loans, and financing solutions. These measures helped lift the homeownership rate among UAE citizens to 91 percent, among the highest globally. The UAE also secured the presidency of the UN-Habitat General Assembly for the first time and gained a seat on its Executive Council.

Energy sector milestones included the launch of the Global Energy Efficiency Alliance, bringing together more than 40 countries and organisations, alongside the release of the State of Energy Report 2025. The Ministry advanced the National Energy and Water Demand Management Programme 2050, targeting a 42 to 45 percent reduction in energy demand by mid-century.

Infrastructure and transport initiatives progressed through the development of a national traffic congestion agenda featuring projects exceeding AED170 billion through 2030. Plans aim to improve federal road efficiency by 73 percent and expand capacity on key corridors, supported by feasibility studies for a new 120-kilometre federal road.

Maritime leadership was strengthened through hosting World Maritime Day events, launching the National Maritime Navigation Centre, and securing re-election to the International Maritime Organisation Council. The year also saw 41 awards, 19 ISO certifications, expanded community engagement, and the opening of a fully integrated digital government services centre in Fujairah.

Energy and Infrastructure Minister Suhail Mohamed Al Mazrouei said the results demonstrate the UAE’s ability to deliver data-driven outcomes while laying firm foundations for future growth under national long-term visions.
