UAE Reinforces Its Status as Premier Winter Travel Destination

The UAE is solidifying its place as a leading global travel destination, with winter emerging as the peak season for tourism.

As part of its ambitious Tourism Strategy 2031, the country is targeting AED100 billion in tourism investments and aims to welcome 40 million hotel guests.

The UAE ranked 18th globally and 1st in the region in the 2024 Travel & Tourism Development Index (TTDI) by the World Economic Forum, advancing seven places since the last report. Additionally, the UAE is the only Middle Eastern country among the top 10 nations in international tourism revenue. The World Travel & Tourism Council’s 2024 report estimates that 29.2 million international tourists visited the UAE in 2023, marking a 15.5% increase compared to the previous year.

Winter offers ideal conditions for tourism, with mild weather and a variety of attractions, from nature-based experiences and leisure activities to shopping and business events. The UAE’s diverse landscapes—mountains, deserts, coastlines, and natural reserves—provide a unique setting for tourists.

The recently launched fifth edition of the "World’s Coolest Winter" campaign highlights the UAE’s remarkable achievements over the past 53 years, celebrating its status as a global tourism hub.

Tourists flock to the UAE during winter to enjoy outdoor activities like desert safaris, mountain hiking, camel riding, and stargazing, while also exploring the country’s rich cultural heritage and historical landmarks. Liam Andrew, a tourist from Denmark, shared his exceptional experience, praising the UAE’s stunning landscapes, including majestic mountains, golden sand dunes, and the welcoming atmosphere of its souks.

With its captivating winter climate and diverse offerings, the UAE remains a prime destination for adventure seekers and culture enthusiasts alike.
