The United Arab Emirates marked the Chinese New Year with vibrant celebrations, emphasizing the longstanding historical and strategic relationship between the UAE and China.

In Abu Dhabi, the Chinese Embassy, in partnership with China Media Group, hosted a major cultural event at Umm Al Emarat Park. As part of global festivities, Abu Dhabi was one of seven cities worldwide selected to hold such an event, celebrating 40 years of diplomatic ties between the two nations. The event showcased the strength of the UAE-China relationship and their cultural exchange.

In Dubai, celebrations began on January 24 and will run until February 2. Organized by the Consulate General of China, the festivities include six major events, such as an electric car showcase and the Lantern Festival, which forms a key part of the Chinese Spring Festival. Dubai Festivals and Retail Establishment (DFRE) has also rolled out a series of Chinese-themed events, offering exclusive promotions and prizes worth up to AED 50,000, including luxury cars. High-end brands are participating with discounts on fashion, cosmetics, and electronics.

The celebrations also featured a concert by the Firdaus Orchestra at Expo Dubai on January 26, dazzling fireworks, and a variety of cultural performances. Special hotel packages and culinary experiences allowed visitors to immerse themselves in the festive spirit.

With nearly 400,000 Chinese residents in the UAE, these celebrations have become an annual highlight, reflecting the strong bond between the two countries and offering both Chinese nationals and Emiratis a chance to celebrate and explore China’s rich cultural heritage.
