The UAE has secured additional flight entitlements to Manila after successful air services consultations with the Philippines, marking a significant step in strengthening bilateral air connectivity and meeting rising passenger demand.
The agreement was reached during Air Services Agreement consultations between the UAE’s General Civil Aviation Authority and the Philippine Civil Aeronautics Board. Discussions focused on air transport requirements and opportunities to enhance cooperation between the two countries’ aviation sectors.
Under the updated arrangements, UAE national carriers will be allowed to operate additional flights to Manila. The move is expected to improve travel options, accommodate growing demand, and reinforce the strong aviation relationship between the two nations.
Saif Mohammed Al Suwaidi, Director-General of the General Civil Aviation Authority, said the development reflects close cooperation in civil aviation and a shared commitment to expanding air connectivity. He added that the agreement supports sustainable sector growth while strengthening people-to-people ties between the UAE and the Philippines.
The two countries share a longstanding aviation partnership supported by robust passenger traffic and established air links. Demand is further driven by the large Filipino community living and working in the UAE, which continues to play a key role in sustaining travel flows between the two markets.
Both sides reaffirmed their intention to deepen cooperation in areas of mutual interest, particularly air services and commercial flight expansion. These efforts are expected to contribute to tourism growth, trade activity, and broader economic engagement while supporting the continued development of the civil aviation sector in both countries.
