UAE Sees 40% Surge in AI Specialists, Strengthening Global Competitiveness
The number of artificial intelligence (AI) specialists in the UAE has surged by approximately 40% since 2022, positioning the country as a strong competitor in the global AI landscape, according to Dr. Akram Awad, Managing Director & Partner at Boston Consulting Group (BCG).
On the sidelines of the Ai Everything Global event at Dubai Exhibition Centre, Expo City, Dr. Awad highlighted the UAE’s rapid progress in attracting and retaining AI talent despite intense global competition.
“This growth is exceptional compared to other countries competing in this sector, especially given the global race for digital talent,”
he noted.
He attributed this success to the UAE’s advanced digital infrastructure, supportive legislative and investment environment, and commitment to fostering innovation. With a solid foundation in place, he believes the UAE is well-positioned to not only enhance its leadership in AI but also emerge as a global exporter of technology.
The country’s ability to attract AI specialists is driven by several key factors, including abundant job opportunities, a high quality of life, and a flexible, innovation-friendly environment. These elements have made the UAE one of the most attractive destinations for AI professionals worldwide.
With continued investment in AI talent and technology, the UAE is expected to further cement its position as a global AI hub, serving both regional and international markets.
