The UAE is reinforcing its position as a global tourism leader by embedding advanced digital technologies and artificial intelligence across the sector, transforming visitor experiences while setting new benchmarks for innovation and sustainability.

Tourism has become a central pillar of the UAE’s economic diversification strategy, supported by sustained investment in world-class digital infrastructure. Extensive fiber-optic networks, advanced transport systems, and high global rankings in digital competitiveness have enabled the country to rapidly adopt smart solutions across tourism and hospitality.

From smart visas and seamless mobility to AI-driven personalisation, technology now underpins every stage of the visitor journey. Platforms such as Visit Dubai, Visit Abu Dhabi, and other emirate-level portals enhance destination promotion, while data analytics and intelligent systems improve service quality and operational efficiency.

Hospitality operators are increasingly deploying cloud platforms, contactless check-in, mobile services, and virtual assistants. Nearly 40 percent of hotels now use chatbots or AI tools to manage guest inquiries and administrative tasks, allowing staff to focus on higher-value interactions. Digital hotel check-in has become standard across Dubai, enabling guests to complete identity verification before arrival and bypass reception queues entirely.

Major government initiatives further anchor this transformation. Abu Dhabi is investing AED13 billion under its Digital Government Strategy, with ambitions to automate all government operations by 2027. Dubai continues to advance paperless services, biometric travel corridors, and 5G-enabled smart-city systems that reduce waiting times and enhance sustainability.

These efforts are guided by the National Tourism Strategy 2031, developed by the Ministry of Economy and Tourism with public and private partners. By placing digital transformation at its core, the UAE is building a resilient, future-ready tourism ecosystem that strengthens competitiveness, attracts investment, and delivers seamless, high-value experiences for travelers worldwide.
