The UAE is rapidly solidifying its position as a global leader in Artificial Intelligence (AI) through strategic initiatives that promote innovation, investment, and cutting-edge legislation.

The country’s advanced infrastructure and adaptive regulatory frameworks are attracting top-tier AI talent and emerging startups, positioning it as a prime destination for technological advancements.

AI is expected to make a significant economic impact in the UAE, contributing an estimated 13.6% to its GDP by 2030, equivalent to approximately $100 billion. According to PwC, the UAE is projected to rank third globally, following China and the US, in AI’s economic contribution. The regional impact of AI is also expected to grow by 20% to 34%, with the UAE leading the charge.

The UAE government is committed to leveraging AI across multiple sectors, including education, healthcare, transportation, and energy. Abu Dhabi’s goal to become the first AI-powered government includes a strategy focused on digital infrastructure, sovereign cloud computing, and full automation of government operations.

The country’s regulatory framework is also fostering innovation in financial technology and digital payments, with a strong emphasis on cybersecurity and data privacy. Strategic partnerships with global giants like NVIDIA and Google are further boosting the UAE's AI capabilities.

Experts, including Nick Redshaw from Oracle and Ahmed Gamal from NVIDIA, praised the UAE’s forward-thinking approach to AI. With the launch of its national AI strategy in 2017 and continuous investment in AI, the UAE is poised to remain a global AI hub, attracting talent, driving economic growth, and setting a standard for technological transformation.
