The UAE has reinforced its strategic partnership with Germany through an official visit aimed at expanding cooperation across key sectors, including energy, industry, transport, and advanced technology.
Dr. Sultan Ahmed Al Jaber, Minister of Industry and Advanced Technology and the UAE’s Special Envoy to Germany, led the visit and met with senior German officials, including Chancellor Friedrich Merz and several federal ministers. Discussions focused on enhancing collaboration in sustainable development, green hydrogen, innovation, and industrial competitiveness.
Both sides reaffirmed their commitment to advancing joint initiatives in renewable energy, advanced manufacturing, and digital transformation. The talks also explored new investment opportunities to strengthen supply chains and accelerate progress in clean energy and technology-driven industries.
Meetings with the German Transport Ministry highlighted shared goals in developing smart and sustainable mobility infrastructure, including electric vehicles and integrated transport systems that contribute to emissions reduction.
Dr. Al Jaber also met with leaders from the digital media sector to discuss the growing role of artificial intelligence and advanced technology in shaping the future of media and communication.
Non-oil trade between the UAE and Germany continued to grow, reaching AED49.9 billion in 2024—an increase of 3.9 percent from the previous year. The positive trend persisted in the first half of 2025, with trade rising 19 percent to AED27.6 billion, underscoring the strong and expanding economic ties between the two countries.
