Dr. Thani bin Ahmed Al Zeyoudi, UAE Minister of Foreign Trade, reinforced the growing economic partnership between the UAE and India during an official visit to Mumbai, where he met with senior government officials and business leaders.

Al Zeyoudi held bilateral talks with India’s Minister of Industry and Commerce Shri Piyush Goyal, with discussions centered on the success of the Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement (CEPA), which has boosted trade since coming into force in 2022. He also engaged stakeholders across logistics, agriculture, healthcare and technology in a series of meetings and roundtables organized by leading Indian business chambers.

Highlighting the impact of CEPA, Al Zeyoudi noted that bilateral non-oil trade reached US$37.6 billion in the first half of 2025, a 33.9% increase compared to last year. He stressed the importance of building on this momentum to unlock further opportunities for both economies.

During the visit, Al Zeyoudi reviewed progress on Bharat Mart, a 2.7 million square foot trade complex in Jebel Ali Free Zone that will help Indian exporters expand into Middle Eastern, African and European markets. He also met leaders from the pharmaceutical and food sectors to address challenges, strengthen cooperation and identify new areas of collaboration.

The visit concluded with a reception attended by Indian industry representatives, underscoring both nations’ commitment to deepening ties and driving mutual economic growth.
