As summer vacation approaches, Emirates Airlines encourages travelers to adopt stress-reducing travel practices, emphasizing online check-ins and self-service options at Dubai International Airport (DXB).

Maryam Al Tamimi, VP of Passenger Services at Emirates, highlighted that leveraging these services could significantly cut down waiting times at check-in counters by up to 25%.

"With 2.6 million passengers expected during peak travel, efficiency is key,"

Al Tamimi noted.

"Checking in online and using self-service kiosks for baggage drop-offs can streamline the process, ensuring a smoother travel experience."

During previous summer peaks, queues at DXB have often exceeded 20 minutes on average. However, Al Tamimi expressed a commitment to minimizing wait times to no more than 15 minutes by encouraging passengers to utilize Emirates' online and app-based check-in options.

Emirates' strategy aligns with broader efforts to enhance customer experience through technological innovation. The airline urges passengers to take advantage of these convenient alternatives, emphasizing that most services are free of charge.

As families and travelers gear up for summer getaways, Emirates' proactive measures aim to alleviate the stress associated with airport congestion. The busiest day is anticipated to be Saturday, July 6th, underscoring the importance of early preparations and utilizing available digital tools.

For those planning upcoming journeys from Dubai, embracing online check-ins and self-service kiosks promises a smoother start to their travels amidst peak season demands.

4 Ways to Skip Queues

Online and App Check-in

Approximately half of all passengers opt for checking in via the airline app or online, available 48 hours before departure. This method allows travelers to select seats and obtain boarding passes conveniently ahead of time.

Early Bag Drop

Passengers flying from Dubai can drop their luggage a day in advance free of charge. This service extends to 24 hours before departure, or 12 hours for US-bound flights, enabling smoother transitions through airport processes.

City Check-in Facilities

Emirates offers city check-in facilities at Dubai International Financial Centre (DIFC), where passengers can drop off luggage between 24 to 4 hours prior to departure. A similar service is available at Ajman Central Bus Terminal, enhancing convenience for travelers outside main airport hubs.

Home Check-in Service

For ultimate convenience, Emirates provides home check-in services where agents handle check-in procedures at the passenger’s location of choice. This service is complimentary for first class passengers and Platinum Skywards members, ensuring a seamless start to the journey.

These services are designed to accommodate all travelers, except those bound for the US who must adhere to specific regulations. By leveraging these options, passengers can bypass queues and enjoy a stress-free travel experience with Emirates.

Travel bag-free

Etihad Airways anticipates a record-breaking summer with approximately five million passengers at Abu Dhabi's Zayed International Airport from June to September.

They offer a home check-in service starting from Dh220 for up to four bags, allowing passengers to skip airport queues. Online check-in users can utilize automated self-service bag drops. Offsite check-in and bag-drop facilities at locations like Abu Dhabi Cruise Terminal and YAS Mall provide added convenience, with passengers earning 2,000 guest miles from June 10 to August 15.
