The UAE is gearing up to host the 19th Conference of Arab Ministers of Higher Education and Scientific Research on November 27–28, 2024, at Saadiyat Rotana Resort and Villas in Abu Dhabi.

Organised by the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research in collaboration with the Arab League Educational, Cultural, and Scientific Organisation (ALECSO), the event will bring together high-ranking delegations, education experts, and policymakers from across the Arab world.

This year's conference, themed ‘A Flexible Higher Education System Adapts to Rapid Global Developments’, will explore strategies to modernize higher education and scientific research across Arab nations. Discussions will focus on enhancing curricula, human resource development, and establishing competitive, high-quality education systems aligned with global standards.

Dr. Abdulrahman Al Awar, the UAE’s Acting Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, highlighted the event’s significance in shaping the future of education in the region. He emphasised that the UAE’s hosting of the conference reflects its leadership in education and commitment to fostering collaboration among Arab nations.

“We aim to develop proactive policies and frameworks that enhance the quality and competitiveness of educational institutions,”

he said.

Dr. Mohamed Ould Amar, Director-General of ALECSO, praised the UAE’s role in supporting regional education initiatives.
