The UAE Government, in collaboration with the World Economic Forum (WEF), will host the 2024 Annual Meeting of the Global Future Councils in Dubai from October 15 to 17.

This pivotal event will gather government officials, experts, and futurists from various sectors, representing over 80 countries.

More than 500 delegates will engage in discussions across 30 councils, focusing on opportunities and challenges in five key areas: technology and artificial intelligence, the environment and climate change, governance, economics and finance, and societal development. The meeting aims to foster a common understanding of the forces shaping global economies and societies while enhancing international cooperation.

A notable aspect of this year's meeting is the increased participation from the private sector, with 70 top CEOs from leading global companies set to share their insights on future trends.

Mohammed Abdullah Al Gergawi, Minister of Cabinet Affairs and Co-Chair of the Global Future Councils, emphasized the UAE's commitment to designing a future that advances human progress, under the leadership of President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan and Vice President Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum.

The councils will explore critical topics, including the future of AI, cybersecurity, sustainable tourism, and climate humanitarianism. Participants will engage in keynotes, panels, and interactive sessions aimed at generating innovative ideas, ultimately leading to recommendations that will shape the agenda for the next WEF Annual Meeting in Davos in January 2025.

Since 2008, the Global Future Councils have convened over 900 councils, bringing together more than 12,000 participants from 100 countries, reinforcing the UAE's role as a global hub for future-oriented dialogue and collaboration.
