UAE to Host Ninth FIFA Football Law Annual Review in 2027
The UAE has been selected to host the prestigious ninth edition of the FIFA Football Law Annual Review in the first quarter of 2027, in partnership with the UAE Football Association.
This event, supervised by FIFA, highlights the UAE’s esteemed position on the global sports stage.
The announcement, made by the UAE Football Association, confirmed that the two-day event will see the participation of over 400 football law experts, specialists, and legal professionals from around the world. The focus will be on reviewing and refining football laws, addressing critical global challenges in the sport, and discussing key legal issues from the year prior to the event.
Mohammed Abdullah Hazzam Al Dhaheri, Secretary-General of the UAE Football Association, emphasized that the event aligns with the UAE’s ongoing commitment to hosting significant international sports events.
“The UAE Football Association, under the leadership of Sheikh Hamdan bin Mubarak Al Nahyan, prioritizes such events as essential platforms for fostering communication, sharing expertise, and driving the development of football globally,”
he stated.
Since its inception in 2019, the FIFA Football Law Annual Review has been a key forum for football law professionals to discuss regulatory developments, judicial decisions, and pivotal legal cases. The event plays a crucial role in supporting FIFA’s strategic objectives, particularly Goal 1 of the 2023-2027 plan, which aims to revise FIFA’s statutes and improve football regulations.
The UAE’s role in hosting this important event further solidifies its reputation as a leading hub for global sports and legal expertise.
