The UAE and the U.S. continue to deepen their long-standing partnership, expanding cooperation across economic, technological, and security domains. The recent visit of H.H. Sheikh Tahnoon bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Ruler of Abu Dhabi and National Security Adviser, underscores both nations' commitment to fostering dialogue and advancing mutual interests.

Economic Cooperation

Economic ties remain a cornerstone of the UAE-U.S. relationship, with bilateral non-oil trade approaching $40 billion. In 2024, U.S. merchandise trade with the UAE rose by 9.47% to $34.43 billion. The UAE has invested $3.7 billion in the U.S. between 2018 and 2023, while U.S. investments in the UAE have reached $9.5 billion. Additionally, the UAE maintains over $70 billion in U.S. energy investments through ADNOC, Masdar, and XRG.

Advancements in AI and Technology

The UAE and the U.S. are accelerating cooperation in artificial intelligence and technology. In April 2024, Microsoft invested $1.5 billion in G42, the UAE’s leading AI company. In September, both nations signed a framework for AI collaboration, focusing on ethical AI research, cybersecurity, and sustainable AI infrastructure. Furthermore, NXT Global and World Wide Technology, Inc. have announced plans to establish the first AI integration center in Masdar City, reinforcing the UAE's position as a hub for AI development.

Collaboration in Space Exploration

The UAE and the U.S. continue to strengthen their space partnership. The UAE’s Hope Probe and Emirates Mission to the Asteroid Belt are partnered with the University of Colorado Boulder. Additionally, the UAE is contributing an airlock module for NASA’s Lunar Gateway project, with ambitions to send an astronaut to lunar orbit by 2030.

Commitment to Sustainability

Sustainability remains a key pillar of cooperation. The UAE-U.S. PACE initiative aims to mobilize $100 billion to generate 100 gigawatts of clean energy by 2035. Masdar has also invested in 11 U.S. clean energy projects, reinforcing both nations' commitment to climate action and sustainable development.

Through these strategic initiatives, the UAE and the U.S. continue to solidify their partnership, driving economic growth, technological innovation, and sustainable progress on a global scale.
