The UAE delegation presented the 'XDGs 2045: Navigating the Future of our World' report at the United Nations (UN) High-Level Political Forum (HLPF) on Sustainable Development, held at the UN headquarters in New York.
Developed by the UAE’s National Committee on SDGs, this forward-looking report extends 21 years beyond the UN’s 2030 Sustainability Agenda, providing a comprehensive roadmap for future sustainability efforts.
The report, based on insights from the XDGs 2045 Ministerial Roundtable at the World Governments Summit 2024, reviews past global development agendas, evaluates current progress towards the 2030 goals, and outlines critical steps for a sustainable and inclusive future.
Abdulla Nasser Lootah, Deputy Minister of Cabinet Affairs for Competitiveness and Experience Exchange and Chairman of the National Committee on SDGs, emphasized the UAE's commitment to a knowledge-driven economy.
"Looking beyond the 2030 Agenda, our focus remains on fostering a competitive and knowledge-driven economy. The UAE is dedicated to leveraging innovation and strategic partnerships to address emerging global challenges, ensuring that we continue to contribute effectively to both our national prosperity and global sustainable development,"
said Lootah.
The report's findings aim to initiate a global dialogue on the future of sustainable development goals, contributing to a unified vision for addressing the rapid changes the world faces.
