The Ministry of Industry and Advanced Technology (MoIAT) has announced a sweeping update to 12 national conformity marks and efficiency labels, marking a significant step under the National Strategy for Industry and Advanced Technology, known as Operation 300bn.

This initiative aligns with the “Make it in the Emirates” (MIITE) campaign, aiming to strengthen the global presence and competitiveness of Emirati products.

The newly updated marks and labels, which include the UAE Standards and Metrology Mark, Made in the Emirates Mark, and Energy Efficiency Label for Electrical Appliances, among others, will feature a refreshed visual identity. These changes are designed to enhance recognition, build trust in Emirati goods, and create a more streamlined compliance process for manufacturers and suppliers.

To support the transition, MoIAT has introduced a grace period of 12 months for products already in local markets and six months for imported items. This phased approach ensures businesses have adequate time to adapt to the new requirements without disruption.

Omar Al Suwaidi, Under-Secretary of MoIAT, emphasized the role of these updates in driving industrial growth, stating,

“This resolution reinforces the position of Emirati products in regional and global markets while supporting companies committed to high-quality manufacturing.”

Al Suwaidi also highlighted the UAE’s advanced quality infrastructure, which ranks fifth globally in the Quality Infrastructure for Sustainable Development Index.

“These updates will facilitate trade, eliminate technical barriers, and attract new investments,”

he added.

A 2023 MoIAT market survey revealed a 93% product compliance rate with national standards—an achievement that underscores consumer trust and the strength of the UAE’s industrial framework.

With this move, the UAE continues to solidify its reputation as a hub for quality-driven, globally competitive manufacturing.
