Many visitors unknowingly overstay their visit in the UAE due to the recent removal of the grace period, travel agents report. Overstaying can result in a fine of Dh50 per day, whether on a residence or visit visa.

To clear these fines, follow these six steps:

  2. On the next page, click 'Start Service' under 'Fines - Pay Fines - Violations of Entry Permissions or Residences - Pay New Fine'.
  3. Fill out the required fields if you were on a residence visa. If not, click on 'citizens of certain countries' and complete the form.
  4. Click 'Verify Applicant' and 'Next' to proceed.
  5. Review and confirm all relevant details on the next page.
  6. Pay the fine amount on the final page, and you will receive confirmation of the transaction.
