The United Arab Emirates has secured the right to host the 2026 Asian Youth Archery Championship in Khorfakkan, marking a major milestone for the nation’s sports sector.

The announcement was made during the Asian Archery Federation Congress in Dhaka, Bangladesh, alongside the ongoing continental championship.

The UAE Archery Federation delegation, including President Hanadi Khalifa Al Kaboori, Vice President Humaid Al Shamsi, and Secretary-General Hind Al Hosani, presented the country’s bid, which received overwhelming support from member nations.

The UAE’s proposal stood out against several competing countries due to its advanced sports infrastructure, world-class facilities, and strong organisational and logistical capabilities. Khorfakkan, in particular, was highlighted as an ideal location for hosting regional and international sporting events.

Al Kaboori emphasized that the victory reflects the confidence of the Asian Archery Federation in the UAE and the nation’s continued commitment to developing sports. She credited the support of the country’s leadership and the Ministry of Sports for empowering federations and strengthening their ability to deliver major championships.

Hosting the 2026 championship will serve as a platform to nurture emerging talent, enhance technical expertise, and further develop national teams. Al Kaboori described it as the culmination of years of institutional effort and a significant step in the UAE Archery Federation’s ongoing journey.

The championship is expected to draw young archers from across Asia, showcasing the UAE’s growing reputation as a premier destination for international sporting events.
