The UAE has officially declared 2025 the Year of Community, reinforcing its ongoing commitment to social cohesion, collective empowerment, and inclusive progress.
Announced by President His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, this year's theme calls on all segments of society—government, private sector, non-profits, and individuals—to work hand-in-hand to build a more connected and resilient nation.
Since its inception in 2015, the UAE Year Of initiative has rallied the nation around shared values. From innovation and reading to sustainability and tolerance, each year has inspired impactful initiatives across social, environmental, health, and economic sectors.
Rauda Al Falasi, Project Lead for the Year of Community, highlighted the initiative’s deeper purpose:
“Our greatest strength lies in the bonds we nurture, the support we extend to one another, and the contributions we make toward a thriving future for all.”
The 2025 campaign encourages collaboration, skill-sharing, and volunteering—aiming to create opportunities for growth, learning, and community-driven solutions. Al Falasi emphasized that success depends on united action, with each sector playing a vital role: governments fostering connection, businesses promoting corporate responsibility, and non-profits leading grassroots change.
To support these efforts, a Partner’s Toolkit has been made available on the official Year of Community website, offering guidance for stakeholders looking to align with this year’s theme.
As the UAE continues to evolve, the Year of Community serves as a powerful reminder that true progress is built on shared purpose and collective effort.
