The UAE Year of Sustainability has officially launched an open call to recognize organizations that have made significant strides in sustainability across the nation.
Entities have until November 8 to submit their applications through the official UAE Year of Sustainability website, where they will be evaluated by a panel of experts.
The expert panel comprises notable figures, including Abdullah Alremethi, Ali Al Shimmari, Habiba Al Marashi, Maitha Al Hameli, and Mariam Al Qubaisi. Participating organizations will be assessed based on their measurable sustainability initiatives, innovative solutions, community engagement, and alignment with the Year of Sustainability’s focus areas: responsible consumption, water and energy conservation, wise planting, and green transportation.
All participating entities will receive the “Plan to Action: Year of Sustainability’s Seal,” a recognition that can be showcased on digital platforms and physical locations. Selected entities will also gain visibility on the Year of Sustainability’s website and social media, promoting collective sustainable actions within the UAE.
Rauda Al Falasi, Deputy Project Lead, emphasized the initiative's goal of mobilizing efforts towards sustainable action, stating,
“This open call highlights the role of changemakers who have set the standards for sustainability in their industries.”
Ali Al Shimmari echoed this sentiment, noting the importance of industry leaders in driving eco-friendly practices.
“When industry leaders embrace sustainability, they inspire innovative solutions that lead to broader impacts,”
he said.
The open call is open to all sectors, including government, private, and non-profit organizations. Interested entities can apply via the official UAE Year of Sustainability website by November 8, 2024.
