Calidus Aerospace, a member of the Emirates Defence Companies Council (EDCC), has signed key collaboration agreements with Turkish defence firms ASELSAN and HAVELSAN during the first day of SAHA EXPO 2024 in Istanbul.
The agreements aim to bolster defence cooperation between the UAE and Türkiye, focusing on advanced defence technologies.
The signing ceremony was attended by high-profile officials, including UAE Minister of State for Defence Affairs Mohamed bin Fadhil Al Mazrouei, Haluk Gorgun, Secretary of Defence Industries (SSB), and Mona Ahmed Al Jaber, Chairwoman of the EDCC. The agreements were signed by Dr. Khalifa AlBlooshi, CEO of Calidus, Ahmet Akyol, CEO of ASELSAN, and Mehmet Akif Nacar, CEO of HAVELSAN.
These partnerships represent a major milestone in joint defence innovation. ASELSAN will provide advanced cockpit display systems for Calidus’ airborne platforms, working on joint production and modernisation of both rotary and fixed-wing aircraft. HAVELSAN, a leader in defence training systems, will deliver ground-based training solutions for Calidus platforms, addressing current and future operational needs.
“These agreements mark an important step in localising defence technology in the UAE and enhancing our domestic capabilities by integrating the latest global innovations,”
said Dr. AlBlooshi. He added,
“Through collaboration with industry leaders, Calidus is advancing its role in defence and aerospace, contributing to the UAE’s strategic goals.”
Calidus aims to strengthen its manufacturing and technological prowess, positioning itself as a leading global player in the defence sector.
