Uber, in partnership with Dubai Airports, has opened a dedicated rider waiting lounge at Dubai International Airport (DXB) Terminal 3, offering passengers a more comfortable and organised experience while waiting for their rides.
Located at the main Uber and Careem Rides pickup area, the custom-built lounge provides a fully air-conditioned space designed to improve passenger flow and reduce congestion around the airport’s pickup areas. The initiative also supports the Dubai Civility Committee’s efforts to enhance service quality, organisation and the overall arrival experience in Dubai.
The lounge includes air purification systems, spacious seating with dedicated luggage space, high chairs and elevated tables for passengers who need to work while waiting. Travellers can also access multiple charging points, including USB-C, USB-A and standard electrical sockets.
A dedicated queuing system has been introduced for UberX and Careem Comfort passengers. Using PIN-based dispatch, the system is designed to organise pickups and make the transition between the lounge and waiting vehicles more efficient.
Clear signage and instruction boards guide passengers through the process, beginning with a dedicated lounge entrance and continuing through the queue and vehicle pickup stages.
Saeed AlNazari, Secretary General of the Dubai Civility Committee, said the initiative reflects Dubai’s focus on providing high-quality services and seamless experiences from the moment travellers arrive in the city.
Tala Nsouli, General Manager at Uber UAE, said the lounge aims to reduce travel friction and give riders a comfortable environment to relax and recharge. Majed Al Joker, Chief Operating Officer of Dubai Airports, added that the partnership will help provide passengers with a smoother experience beyond the terminal.
The Terminal 3 lounge represents the first phase of wider plans to improve airport ground transportation, with additional passenger-focused features expected in the coming weeks.
