On 23rd August 2024, over 400 dedicated volunteers, including 100 from Aldar, gathered to assemble 10,000 essential school kits for children from low-income families across the UAE.
This event, part of Dubai Cares' 'Back to School' Volunteer Emirates initiative, marked a significant milestone in the partnership between Dubai Cares and Aldar, the Platinum Sponsor. Held for the first time in Abu Dhabi, the initiative saw an unprecedented turnout, with volunteers coming together to empower children through education.
The school kits, filled with essential supplies, will help students confidently start the new academic year. Abdulla Ahmed Alshehhi, COO at Dubai Cares, and Faisal Falaknaz, Aldar’s Group Chief Financial and Sustainability Officer, both highlighted the initiative's success, emphasizing the powerful impact of community engagement. Long-time volunteers like Shalin Kaladharan and first-time participants like Safiya Japanwala shared their inspiring experiences, reflecting the strong sense of community and purpose that united everyone involved.
This initiative aligns with Dubai Cares' mission to promote inclusive education and community involvement and supports Aldar’s broader efforts to enhance educational opportunities for underprivileged children across the UAE.
