The 26th Water, Energy, Technology, and Environment Exhibition (WETEX) began on October 1, 2024, at the Dubai World Trade Centre, hosting 44 seminars and discussion panels led by global experts.
Organised annually by Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA) under the directives of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum and patronage of H.H. Sheikh Ahmed bin Saeed Al Maktoum, the exhibition will run until October 3.
The first day featured a variety of topics, including innovation in sustainable energy, low-carbon hydrogen policies, and emissions reduction in public transportation. ACWA Power, Abu Dhabi Department of Energy, Siemens Energy, ENOC Group, and Masdar were among the key presenters. The Future Energy Landscape Forum focused on decarbonisation strategies in the oil and gas sector, with Dragon Oil leading discussions on industry challenges and opportunities.
Renewables and sustainability were central themes, with seminars on hydrogen's role in energy transition and advancements in solar and storage technologies. The Water Seminars addressed global water resilience, urban flood management, and water quality monitoring, while the Health and Safety Hub covered topics ranging from workplace well-being to climate-resilient solutions.
Day one also included discussions on supplier relations management and DEWA’s supply chain. WETEX continues to serve as a platform for advancing sustainable technologies and environmental strategies.
