Dubai is placing electric vehicles and sustainable transport in the spotlight as the 27th edition of the Water, Energy, Technology and Environment Exhibition (WETEX) opens from 30 September to 2 October 2025 at the Dubai World Trade Centre.
Organised by Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA), the event underscores the emirate’s drive to accelerate green mobility in line with its Net Zero 2050 Strategy and Green Mobility Strategy 2030.
This year’s edition is hosting a record number of local and international companies showcasing solutions in electric mobility across land, sea and air. Through its dedicated Green Mobility Hall, WETEX is highlighting advances in hydrogen, low-emission fuels and artificial intelligence that are shaping the next phase of EV adoption and infrastructure development.
Saeed Mohammed Al Tayer, MD and CEO of DEWA and Chairman of WETEX, said the exhibition plays a pivotal role in enhancing competitiveness in the EV sector by attracting technologies that cut costs and improve efficiency. He emphasised that DEWA, in partnership with public and private entities, is building world-class infrastructure to support sustainable transport, including more than 1,500 charging points through its EV Green Charger initiative.
The Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) is also unveiling projects such as zero-emission buses, a Green Fleet Classification System and a Public Transport Sustainability Roadmap. Private sector leaders, including Gargash Group, AW Rostamani, Charger and several EV manufacturers, are using WETEX to launch products and partnerships tailored to the UAE market.
With UAE EV sales surging by 260% in 2024 and global adoption rising steadily, WETEX 2025 positions Dubai as a hub for sustainable mobility solutions while reinforcing its ambition to reduce emissions and enhance energy efficiency across the transport sector.
