The third day of the largest annual food and beverage sourcing event in the world, Gulfood 2023, takes place today (22nd February) at Dubai World Trade Centre (DWTC).
Here are some of the highlights you can expect to see:
- To mark Saudi Arabia’s Founding Day, the Modon stand will have entertainment every hour, on the hour.
- At the Inspire Conference, Kestutis Navickas, the Minister of Agriculture – Republic of Lithuania, and Antanas Venckus, Director of International Affairs and Export Promotion unit - Ministry of Agriculture of the Republic of Lithuania, will be presenting a 20-minute session ‘Spotlight Lithuania – the F&B industry’, where they’ll be sharing an overview of the development of the F&B industry in Lithuania, the success stories and future outlook at 1.40 pm.
- Over at Top Table, there will be a series of masterclasses and chef talks taking place throughout the day.
These include the below, among others:
20-minute masterclass by Mohamad Najem, Advisory Chef and Consultant, who will present ‘Modern Italian and Lebanese Fusion Cuisine’ at 12.25 pm
Chef Talks – ‘Bridging the gap between casual and fine dining’ with Thembalethu Zulu, Editor - Caterer Middle East, Mohamad Chabchoul, Executive Chef - Millennium & Copthorne Hotels Dubai, David Anderson, Executive Chef - Black Tap Dubai, and Manish Chandna, Chef – BRF. They will discuss how premium casual restaurants provide a space for businesses to thrive by providing accessible dining options for Dubai’s residents and visitors, at 12.45pm
Chef Talks – ‘Finding similarities in global cuisines’ with Andrew Walsh, Founder & CEO - Cure Concepts, and Bojan Cirjanic, Executive Chef – FOLLY, who will be discussing the similarities and differences between the culinary scenes in Singapore and Dubai and why when top talent comes together, any cuisine is compatible, at 1.40pm
50 minute ‘Dubai World Cuisine’ masterclass by Esben Holmboe, Head Chef & Co-Owner – Maaemo, and Gregoire Berger, Executive Chef – OSSIANO, on “Mythical Nordic cuisine meets Dubai world cuisine” at 2.30pm
- And tomorrow at 9.30am, there will be a breakfast briefing and MOU signing with the Dubai Department of Human Resources and ten companies, focuses on hiring Emiratis in the F&B industry.
