WhatsApp, the world’s leading messaging platform, has introduced a series of updates to improve engagement and usability. Announced by parent company Meta, the updates include creative camera effects, personalised selfie stickers, enhanced sticker sharing, and quicker message reactions, making the app more interactive and user-friendly.

Key Updates:

  • Revamped Camera Effects: Users can now apply 30 new backgrounds, filters, and effects to photos and videos, adding a visually appealing touch to shared media.
  • Personalised Selfie Stickers: Android users can turn selfies into custom stickers by tapping the “create sticker” icon, snapping a selfie, and personalising it. iOS users will gain access soon.
  • Enhanced Sticker Sharing: Entire sticker packs can now be shared directly in chats, simplifying the process of spreading popular stickers.
  • Quicker Message Reactions: A new double-tap feature allows users to instantly react to messages. With a quick scroll, users can also access their most-used reactions for smoother conversations.

WhatsApp, used daily by 2 billion people in 180 countries, facilitates over 100 billion messages each day in 60 languages. India remains its largest market with 400 million users, followed by Brazil with 120 million users.

These updates mark another step in WhatsApp's commitment to delivering a more engaging and intuitive communication experience for its global user base.
