Wio Bank has introduced the UAE’s first banking account designed exclusively for content creators and digital entrepreneurs, marking a significant step in addressing the financial needs of the fast-growing creator economy.
The announcement was made during the fourth edition of the 1 Billion Followers Summit, held in Dubai and organised by the UAE Government Media Office under the theme Content for Good. The global event is the world’s largest gathering focused on content creation, bringing together more than 15,000 creators and influencers from around the world.
The new account has been developed to support income management, payments, and business growth for creators who often operate across borders and platforms. Launched in partnership with Visa, the account is fully digital, multi-currency, and can be opened within 72 hours, with no minimum balance requirement.
Amina Taher, Chief Marketing Officer of Wio Bank, said the product was shaped directly by insights gained through engagement with content creators at previous editions of the summit. She noted that many creators struggle to open traditional business accounts and are often forced to rely on personal banking solutions that do not meet their professional needs.
According to Taher, the account includes smart financial tools that allow users to manage bills and business operations independently, reducing the need for external accounting support. She added that the solution is designed to help creators operate efficiently at a global level while gaining greater financial independence.
Wio Bank’s participation in the summit for the second consecutive year reflects its broader strategy to support emerging digital professions and align banking services with the evolving nature of work in the UAE and beyond.
