Under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, the Women’s Race will take place on Sunday, 16 February 2025, marking the fourth stage of the prestigious ninth Al Salam Cycling Championship.

The event, organized by the Private Office of His Highness the Ruler of Dubai, is recognized as the world’s largest community cycling event in terms of diversity and prize value.

The Women’s Race, held at the Al Marmoom Nature Reserve, serves as a significant highlight of the championship, promoting women’s cycling in the UAE and the broader region. The competition will feature two races: the first, a 107 km race exclusively for Emirati female cyclists, and the second, a 136 km race for top female cyclists from the UAE and other GCC countries.

Organized under the leadership of Omar bin Jumaa Al-Falasi, Director-General of the Private Office of His Highness the Ruler of Dubai, the championship has seen a significant increase in female participation, contributing to the growth and success of women’s cycling. Al Tayer Motors is sponsoring the event, with the race route specially designed to meet international standards while ensuring safety protocols in collaboration with government entities.

The Al Salam Championship, a platform for empowering women in sports, reflects the UAE’s broader commitment to gender equality. The women’s race route, set against the stunning Al Marmoom Conservation Reserve, continues to reinforce Dubai’s reputation as a premier destination for sports enthusiasts. This year’s edition is expected to be one of the most competitive in the event’s history, with numerous international cyclists participating.

The ninth edition of the championship commenced in December with the Sword of Honour race, and will continue with a series of prestigious races.
