The first Women’s Triathlon World Cup Dubai 2025 opens tomorrow, marking a milestone as the world’s only dedicated global triathlon event for women and signalling Dubai’s growing profile as a host for elite international sport.

Organised by the Dubai Sports Council under the Sheikha Hind Sports Initiative and aligned with the Dubai Sports Plan 2033, the championship is supervised by the World Triathlon Federation and supported by the UAE Triathlon Federation. All competitions will take place at Dubai Islands.

The event offers a range of race formats designed to attract athletes at every level. Beginners will compete in a Super Sprint featuring a 400 metre swim, 10 kilometre cycle and 2.5 kilometre run, available for both individuals and teams. Amateurs and age-group competitors will take part in the Sprint race, which includes 750 metres of swimming, 20 kilometres of cycling and a 5 kilometre run.

The headline professional race mirrors the Sprint distances and has drawn several of the sport’s top names. American Gwen Jorgensen, the Rio Olympic champion, will line up alongside Indonesia’s Valentina Riasova, the Mixed Triathlon World Cup title holder. Spain’s Noelia Juan and Alejandra Seguí and Hana Maksimava, winner of the 2025 Aquathlon World Championship, are also confirmed.

National teams from the UAE, the United Kingdom, the Philippines, Australia, South Africa, the United States, Russia, Jordan and the Netherlands will join athletes from across other continents, underscoring the event’s global breadth.
