The World Free Zones Organisation (World FZO) concluded the 10th edition of its Annual World Congress in Dubai, drawing over 2,000 participants from 136 countries.
The event, held under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, marked the organization's decade-long journey since its founding in Dubai.
With its headquarters in Dubai, the World FZO has grown from 14 founding members to 1,600 across 141 countries. Over the years, it has established 12 regional offices and 42 national contact points, solidifying its global reach and influence.
The congress featured a ‘Ministerial Meeting’ with Dr. Thani bin Ahmed Al Zeyoudi, UAE Minister of State for Foreign Trade, and 24 global leaders, focusing on AI, technology, and trade resilience. Dr. Al Zeyoudi highlighted the UAE's role as a strategic global trade leader, emphasizing the importance of AI and digitalization in enhancing supply chains.
Dr. Mohammed Al Zarooni, Chairman of World FZO, reflected on the organization’s success and future vision, emphasizing free zones' strategic role in global trade. The congress also unveiled the World FZO’s new corporate identity, focusing on sustainability and future growth.
The event culminated in the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA), outlining collaborative efforts to enhance business environments across African free zones.
