The World Governments Summit 2026 will convene in Dubai from 3 to 5 February, bringing together a record number of global leaders under the theme Shaping Future Governments, in what organisers describe as the largest edition in the event’s history.

Since its launch in 2013, the Summit has evolved from a regional initiative into a leading global platform for governance dialogue, according to Mohammad Al Gergawi, Minister of Cabinet Affairs and Chairman of the World Governments Summit Organisation. Speaking at the World Governments Summit Dialogue at the Museum of the Future, Al Gergawi said the event now serves as a central meeting point for governments, the private sector, and international institutions to address shared global challenges.

The 2026 edition will host more than 35 heads of state and government, alongside delegations from over 150 countries. Total attendance is expected to exceed 6,000 participants, including policymakers, thought leaders, and global experts. Attendees include leaders from Bhutan, Switzerland, Spain, Ecuador, Estonia, Kuwait, Egypt, and several other nations across Europe, Asia, Africa, and the Americas.

This year’s programme features 24 global forums, more than 320 sessions, and over 35 ministerial and high-level meetings involving more than 500 ministers. Strategic discussions will focus on governance, technology, economic development, societal wellbeing, urban futures, and emerging frontiers, supported by 36 strategic reports developed with international knowledge partners.

The Summit will also host the World Laureates Summit on 1 and 2 February, bringing Nobel Prize, Turing Award, and Fields Medal winners together to develop scientific solutions to pressing global challenges, with outcomes to be announced during the main event.

Organisers say the scale and diversity of participation underline the Summit’s growing role as a global crossroads for shaping future-ready governments and accelerating international cooperation.
