The World Governments Summit Organization and the World Travel & Tourism Council have signed a strategic partnership to deepen dialogue between governments and the private sector on the future of travel and tourism.
The agreement aims to encourage joint initiatives that support sustainable growth across the global tourism industry.
The Memorandum of Understanding was signed by Mohammad Yousef Al Sharhan, Managing Director of the World Governments Summit Organization, and Gloria Guevara, President and CEO of WTTC. Under the deal, both organisations will build an institutional framework for cooperation, covering knowledge exchange, joint research and strategic events, and initiatives designed to strengthen the sector's resilience and adaptability.
H.E. Mohammad Abdullah Al Gergawi, Minister of Cabinet Affairs and Chairman of the World Governments Summit, said the partnership reflects the UAE leadership's vision of empowering governments to anticipate global change through high-impact international collaboration. He added that the agreement would help translate dialogue into practical policies that support economic growth and investment in the tourism sector.
Guevara said the travel and tourism industry performs best when governments and businesses pursue a shared vision, describing the partnership as a model for cooperation built on innovation and forward-looking policy.
Al Sharhan said the collaboration reinforces the Summit's role as a global platform connecting governments, international organisations and industry leaders, and would help shape policy discussions around tourism's economic and social impact.
The partnership will focus on organising joint dialogues and events, producing shared studies and reports, and launching initiatives to support job creation, investment and global connectivity within the sector. It also seeks to bring together policymakers, business leaders and experts to address emerging challenges facing the industry.
The World Governments Summit is a platform focused on anticipating global trends and government innovation, while WTTC represents the private sector across hotels, airlines, airports, cruise lines and tourism destinations worldwide.
