The UAE is reaffirming its global leadership in government innovation and cooperation as it prepares for the next World Governments Summit from 1st to 3rd February 2027.

Guided by President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan and Vice President and Prime Minister Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, the event aims to advance government development, foster international partnerships, and share successful governance practices.

Mohammad Al Gergawi, Minister of Cabinet Affairs and Chairman of the summit, said the platform empowers governments to drive change, create opportunities, and respond to rapidly evolving global challenges. He noted the summit’s role in promoting sustainable prosperity and long-term societal stability worldwide.

The 2026 edition of the summit, held in Dubai from 3rd to 5th February, recorded the highest leadership participation in its history. Over 6,250 participants attended, including more than 60 heads of state, 500 ministers, and representatives from over 150 countries. The event hosted 445 dialogue sessions, 25 global forums, and more than 45 ministerial and high-level meetings.

Global business and academic leaders also joined, with more than 700 CEOs, 87 Nobel laureates, and experts from over 80 international organisations contributing to discussions. Key themes included global governance, community wellbeing, economic opportunities, the future of cities, and emerging global trends.

The summit’s initiatives included the release of 36 strategic reports with international knowledge partners and the third Global Ministers Survey to identify development priorities and support effective public policy. Al Gergawi highlighted the growing importance of international collaboration as nations navigate accelerated global transformations.

The World Governments Summit continues to serve as a central platform for joint action, creative thinking, and innovative solutions that strengthen global governance, promote prosperity, and shape a sustainable future for societies worldwide.
