Dubai will host the 11th World Green Economy Summit (WGES) on 1-2 October 2025, bringing together heads of state, ministers, experts and innovators from across the globe to advance sustainable development and climate action.

Held under the patronage of HH Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, the summit will take place at the Dubai World Trade Centre under the theme “Innovating for Impact: Accelerating the Future of the Green Economy.”

The event is organised by the Dubai Supreme Council of Energy, Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA) and the World Green Economy Organization (WGEO). It will feature high-level participants including HE Sauli Niinistö, former president of Finland, HE Dr Amna bint Abdullah Al Dahak, UAE Minister of Climate Change and Environment, and ministers from the Seychelles, Madagascar and the Maldives.

This year’s discussions will centre on seven key pillars: technology and innovation, clean and renewable energy, policy and regulation, finance, climate equity, adaptation and resilience, and youth in climate action. The agenda focuses on advancing partnerships, empowering developing nations and accelerating the transition to a sustainable global economy.

HE Saeed Mohammed Al Tayer, Vice Chairman of the Dubai Supreme Council of Energy and Chairman of WGEO, said WGES has become a vital platform for promoting green policies, investing in clean technologies and advancing innovation such as artificial intelligence and circular economy models.

Speakers from government, academia, business and civil society will address issues ranging from climate justice to regional cooperation, with an emphasis on practical solutions that balance environmental responsibility and economic growth.

The summit is expected to strengthen international collaboration, drive investment in sustainable industries and reinforce Dubai’s role as a global hub for climate dialogue and green innovation.
