The 12th World Green Economy Summit (WGES) is set to take place on 21-22 October at the Dubai World Trade Centre, bringing together global leaders and innovators under the theme "From Success to Scale: Showcasing the Green Economy."

Held under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President, Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai, the summit is organised by the World Green Economy Organisation (WGEO), the Dubai Supreme Council of Energy and the Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA).

The event will convene decision-makers, business leaders, investors and academics alongside representatives from government and the private sector, with a focus on accelerating the shift to a low-carbon economy and strengthening ties between economic growth and environmental sustainability.

Saeed Mohammed Al Tayer, Vice Chairman of the Dubai Supreme Council of Energy, MD and CEO of DEWA and Chairman of WGEO, said the summit has cemented its position as a leading global platform for advancing international climate dialogue. He noted that the green transition is no longer a future aspiration but a present reality, driven by proven technologies and scalable business models.

WGES 2026 will be structured around four thematic pillars: energy technology and infrastructure; business strategy and transition; water and food security; and finance. Three cross-cutting themes will also run through the programme, covering artificial intelligence as an enabler for climate projects, governance, and system enablers such as supply chains and the circular economy.

The summit reflects Dubai's broader ambition to serve as a global hub for climate action, offering practical, replicable models that support regional and international development goals.
